Hi all,

We’ve been invited to perform at the Four Corners Calgary Stampede celebration at the Genesis Centre! The demo is at 10am, so please be there on time, and bring your abada!

Hi everyone,

Professor Superhomem is coming for the long weekend (Nov 11-14) and we’re going to have some workshops that weekend in addition to regular class. Here is the preliminary schedule:

Friday Nov 11, 7:00pm regular class
Saturday Nov 12, 5:00pm workshop and roda
Sunday Nov 13, 2:00pm workshop
Monday Nov 14, 7:00pm regular class

Workshops will be $15 each, and regular class is $15 drop in or covered by a monthly membership as always. We’ll also plan some non capoeira activities… vietnamese after class, etc.

Please come out to as much as you can!!!

Oi Capoeristas!!!

We were invited to do a demo for BrazilFest Party!!!! We were informed that the admission is free for everyone so invite your friends and family for what is going to be a fun party with lots of music, dancing, capoeira and food!!!

Demo details:
When: Saturday, October 22 8:30PM (duration 15-20 mins)
Where: Chinese Cultural Centre (near Eau Claire market)
What to bring: your full uniform and your ache!!!! (if you don’t have a uniform or missing parts, let us know we can ask around for spares)

Demo at 7pm on Friday. It’s for Easter Seals in their Camp Horizon. We’re going to meet at the studio at 5:45 to carpool, or I’ve attached a map if you want to meet us there… we have to start right at 7pm, as they have other activities planned, so if you are going to meet us there, try to make it by 6:30!

We were invited to do a demo at the Brazilian Carnaval this year! It’s a great event to promote the group and practice your dance moves (after the demo)

The details:

When: Saturday, April 26th at 9:30PM (please arrive at least 15 mins earlier). Show your abada at the door.
Where: Chinese Cultural Center in downtown.

Bring your full abada for the demo. And of course, you’r welcome to stay afterward to enjoy the rest of the shows.

Capoeira camping is at Fintry Provincial Park on Lake Okanagan. Google maps says it is an 8 hour drive, so plan accordingly!

Directions From Calgary:
- TransCanada highway west from Calgary until Sicamous (6.5 hours)
- Turn south (left) on highway 97A (1 hour)
- Turn west (right) onto the highway 97 ramp (1 minute)
- Turn north (right) onto highway 97 (3 minutes)
- Turn south (left) onto Westside Road (35 minutes)
- Turn east (left) onto Fintry Delta Road (entrance to campground)

For those of you with GPS the lat/long at the entrance from Westside Road is 50:07:56 N 119:30:27 W

The campground closes its gates in the evening (about 10pm I think). If you arrive later than this you will have to park at the gates and walk in about half a kilometer to the campsite, which is straight in from the gates on the left.

Remember to bring $50 cash per or cheque per adult, which includes the camping fee and all capoeira workshops.

Mestrando Gordo is in Calgary for five days during which time he’s going to be teaching several workshops. Mestrando Gordo only comes to Canada once every couple of years, so we should take advantage of this opportunity! Here is his schedule:
